Wicked star Cynthia Erivo is swapping the wonderful world of Oz for the magical realm of fairies with her latest movie. The actress has reportedly signed on to star in Bad Fairies, a new musical feature from Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Locksmith Animation. Erivo’s distinctive vocals have been amplified in recent years through her acclaimed performances on both the stage and the screen, including her Oscar-nominated turn as Elphaba Thropp in the hit 2024 film Wicked – a role she reprised in the highly anticipated sequel Wicked: For Good. However, Bad Fairies marks the first time the actress has led a major animated film.
