Waxahatchee is one of the featured artists on this week’s episode of the long-running live music series Austin City Limits. Making her official debut on the program, Katie Crutchfield performed a six-song set that included her Tigers Blood track “Crowbar.” Watch an exclusive clip below.
Dressed in an all-denim jumper, Crutchfield strummed an acoustic guitar, her expressive vocals and lyrics almost making heartbreak sound desirable. “I know that you can’t read my mind,” she sings. “I swear I said the same thing a hundred times/ Maybe it’s harder than it should be/ Variations on a theme.”
Crutchfield’s rendition of “Crowbar” followed performances of her 2020 Saint Cloud track “Can’t Do Much,” her 2022 Jess Williamson collaboration “Problem with It,” and fellow Tigers Blood standout “Right Back to It.” Notably, she previously performed the latter track with MJ Lenderman at the 2024 Americana Honors and Awards, which aired on Austin City Limits last year.
