The inaugural Future Ruins festival, curated by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, has been canceled “due to a number of logistical challenges and complications.” It had been scheduled to take place November 8th at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.
The fest was set to bring together “visionary composers shaping the sound of modern cinema and television” and include “live performances across three stages.” In addition to the aforementioned Nine Inch Nails members, Future Ruins was slated to feature Danny Elfman, John Carpenter, Questlove, and more.

A statement posted Friday on the festival’s social media pages reads as follows:
“Unfortunately Future Ruins will not move forward this year. The reality is, due to a number of logistical challenges and complications, we feel we cannot provide the experience that’s defined what this event was always intended to be. Rather than compromise, we’re choosing to re-think and re-evaluate. Meanwhile, we are sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate all the interest and support. Refunds will be automatically issued and ticket holders will receive an email with more information.”
