Pixar has shared the first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5. The preview hints at the end of “the age of toys” as Buzz, Woody, and the gang come face to face with the most evil of new technology: a children’s tablet called Lilypad (voiced by Greta Lee). Watch the trailer — which is soundtracked by a suped-up version of INXS’ “Never Tear Us Apart” — below.
Due out July 19th, 2026, Toy Story 5 will see much of the beloved main cast return, including Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear. Others back in the booth include Joan Cusack as Jessie, Blake Clark as Slinky Dog, and Tony Hale as Forky. Alongside Lee, Conan O’Brien will join the franchise as the vice of Smarty Pants, a toilet training tech toy.
Lee’s character is described as “a high-tech frog-shaped smart tablet… that makes Buzz, Woody, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs exponentially harder when they have to go head to head with the all-new threat to playtime.”

Andrew Stanton, who co-wrote all four previous entries and is the sole credited writer for this one, is stepping up as director for Toy Story 5. He also previously directed WALL•E, Finding Nemo, and Finding Dory.
The new entry arrives 31 years after the original movie, and seven years after the $1 billion-grossing, Oscar-winning Toy Story 4. Of course, that film ended with Woody choosing to live life as a “lost toy” in a carnival with Bo Peep, so how he ends up back with the old gang at Bonnie’s is anyone’s guess.
