Thundercat and Remi Wolf were enjoying the insomnia vibes performing their new collaboration “Children of the Baked Potato” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“Children of the Baked Potato” is an ode to staying up later than you should because you’re finally enjoying some me-time — a relatable experience for Late Show viewers. “I’ll be dancing with myself,” Thundercat sang, “Just vibing with my cats.”
Later, Wolf took the mic to show off her big, precision pipes, blasting up and down the scale to celebrate “Peanut butter jelly spread on the living room floor/ Magazines, latest porn.” It’s an impressive display of musicianship, though it’s soon eclipsed by Thundercat and one of the funkiest bass solos in The Late Show‘s long history.
