The Who have presumably played their final US show ever, as they wrapped up their North American farewell tour Wednesday night at the Acrisure Arena in Thousand Palms, California.

Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, and company put a wrap on their stateside “Song Is Over” tour with a career-spanning 23-song set, beginning with their early single “I Can’t Explain.”

Throughout the evening, they played favorites like “Substitute,” “Who Are You,” “My Generation, “You Better You Bet,” “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” and “Baba O’Riley,” closing out the night with “The Song Is Over,” and “Tea & Theatre,” with only Daltrey and Townshend onstage for the final song.

“We will do stuff together … in bits and pieces, but for this kind of thing, it’s goodbye,” Townshend told the audience at the end of the show. “And you were last! Thank you so much.”

Daltrey added, “It was every band’s dream in the ’60s to make it in America, and thanks to you guys, you made it happen for us. Thank you so much. May you be happy, and may you be healthy, and may you be lucky!”
