The Residence is closing its doorways. Netflix has canceled the homicide thriller collection after only one season on the streaming service. The collection arrived in March.
Uzo Aduba, Andre Braugher, Edwina Findley, Molly Griggs, Jason Lee, Ken Marino, Al Mitchell, Dan Perrault, Bronson Pinchot, Susan Kelechi Watson, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mary Wiseman, and Randall Park starred within the eight-episode homicide thriller collection set within the White Home.
Deadline shared the next in regards to the cancellation of the collection:
“The comedic homicide thriller suffered from unlucky timing — it premiered only a week after the debut of Netflix’s Adolescence and bought overshadowed on the platform by the cultural phenomenon that the restricted collection grew to become, dominating the viewership charts and social dialog for weeks and drawing large audiences that catapulted it to No. 2 on Netflix’s Most Well-liked TV (English) listing.
That, coupled with The Residence’s excessive price, made a renewal a troublesome proposition. Season 1 had an all-star forged, led by Uzo Aduba and that includes Giancarlo Esposito, Randall Park, Susan Kelechi Watson, Ken Marino and Jason Lee, amongst others, in addition to an elaborate manufacturing design supplemented by in depth VFX work. Believed to be the most important ever re-creation of the White Home, The Residence‘s set was constructed on seven levels and featured 10 miles of molding, 200 working doorways and 144,000 kilos of flooring, per the streamer.”
