Julien’s Auctions has transformed into an actual rainbow connection.
For the first time ever, the Jim Henson Company is auctioning a plethora of puppets, props, and memorabilia from its vast archives. Hosted by Julien’s Auctions, the sale is in celebration of the company’s 70th anniversary.
The auction will present more than 400 lots, which span props, costumes, set pieces, posters, autographed memorabilia, and more than 80 hand-made puppets. Original pieces from Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, Labyrinth, multiple Muppet productions, and many more will be made available to the public through auction.
Among the items up for auction include an array of pieces from the most celebrated Muppet movies, TV series and specials: Miss Piggy’s iconic lavender suede heels (estimate: $7,000-$9,000) worn in The Great Muppet Caper‘s beloved bicycle scene, Baby Kermit’s rocking chair (estimate: $2,000-$3,000), used in the “I’m Gonna Always Love You” musical dream sequence from The Muppets Take Manhattan, notable for the circular puppeteering hole in its seat, and an original Miss Piggy Cover Girl 1981 Fantasy Calendar signed by Miss Piggy herself (estimate: $1,000-$2,000), as well as her perfume atomizer, hand mirror, French style telephone from photo shoots and more.
