The Darkness guitarist Dan Hawkins has slammed the VMAs tribute to the late Ozzy Osbourne, calling the all-star efficiency “shit” in a social media put up.
As we reported, the VMAs paid tribute to the Prince of Darkness with a three-song set that featured Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Yungblud, and Excessive guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.
The tribute was prefaced by a video introduction from Jack Osbourne and his household, who clearly endorsed the next covers of “Loopy Practice” and “Adjustments” (each sung by Yungblud, the latter in a reprisal of his Again to the Starting look), and Tyler and Perry’s model of the Ozzy solo ballad “Mama, I’m Coming House” (on which they had been finally joined by Yungblud).

Over a clip of Yungblud and Tyler duetting “Mama, I’m Coming House,” together with video of pop star Ariana Grande’s overwhelmed response to the efficiency, Hawkins wrote, “Watch a bunch of bellends,” plus the next caption:
