Hollywood and action movie icon Sylvester Stallone will join forces with a pair of fellow action movie superstars for a new Amazon MGM Studios project that will reportedly be both globe-hopping and multilingual. Stallone has, of course, been a staple of the action genre for decades now, thanks to roles in the likes of Rambo, Judge Dredd, Demolition Man, Cliffhanger, The Expendables, and many more. Now the actor and Hollywood “Special Ambassador” is rumored to be uniting with a pair of action superstars lesser known to Western audiences.
First up is Ong Bak and Expend4bles (he and Stallone never shared the screen) star Tony Jaa, who has been proving time and again his affinity for sheer martial arts spectacle since as far back as 2003. Jaa’s expert Muay Thai skills have been put to the test in the likes of Furious 7, Skin Trade, Warrior King, Triple Threat, and more, but somehow the charismatic star remains an underrated icon within Hollywood.
The other action superstar set to complete this trio is Bollywood icon Tiger Shroff, best known for the martial arts romance franchise, Baaghi, which released its fourth outing this year. Pinkvilla revealed that, according to a mysterious source, “Amazon MGM is developing an action film which has the possibility of bringing together Sylvester Stallone, Tony Jaa and Tiger Shroff. It’s a global project, and the idea is to make it in the format of a multi-lingual film.”
Sylvester Stallone Is One of Tiger Shroff’s Action Idols
The report also reveals that the action epic, which does not currently have a title, is “being designed as a large-scale global spectacle, blending Hollywood’s trademark scale for action with the intensity of Asian cinema.” Discussions with the actors have reportedly already begun, with insiders claiming that “all three actors have expressed interest in coming on board.” The source goes on to state…
“The director of the film could be an Indian name only, and the details have been kept under wraps for now. Tiger Shroff is excited to team up with his idol, Sylvester Stallone in this one of its kind Pan-World action spectacle.
(Sylvester) Stallone has made a cameo once in Kambakkt Ishq; however, this one could be his full-fledged feature film if an Indian name comes on board.”
While this is all simply a rumor right now, the report does add that “chatter of this collaboration is spreading within the industry circles.” As pointed out by the source, Stallone has gone over to Bollywood before, starring alongside Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Denise Richards, Brandon Routh, and Whoopi Goldberg in 2009s’ Kambakkht Ishq.
The action flick would mark Tiger Shroff’s international debut. Sharing the screen with Sylvester Stallone would no doubt be hugely exciting for the actor, who, back in 2017, was signed on to star in a reboot of Stallone’s own Rambo franchise. However, the project was ultimately shelved. The prospect of Stallone, Shroff, and Jaa tearing up the screen is surely too good not to be true, so here’s hoping this rumor turns out to be accurate.
