Melissa Gilbert had the most effective response to Megyn Kelly‘s request that the upcoming Little Home on the Prairie reboot isn’t “woke-ified” by Netflix.
After information of the collection was introduced earlier this week, Kelly wrote on X, “@Netflix for those who wokeify Little Home on the Prairie I’ll make it my singular mission to completely wreck your venture.”
Gilbert then took to Threads to level out that the unique collection, which she starred in, tackled loads of matters that the journalist would possibly think about “woke.” The actress wrote, “Apparently Megyn tweeted (I’m not on that platform) asking that Netflix not “woke-Ify” their Little Home remake. Ummm…watch the unique once more. TV doesn’t get way more ‘woke’ than we did. We tackled: racism, dependancy, nativism, antisemitism, misogyny, rape, spousal abuse, and each different ‘woke’ matter you may consider. Thanks very a lot.”
She tagged Kelly in her put up and instructed her to, “Watch any episode on any streaming platform wherever on the earth.”
The upcoming Netflix present might be a brand new adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder books, which have been printed between 1932 and 1943. NBC’s authentic TV adaptation of the collection aired from 1974-1982. Gilbert starred within the present, which ran for 9 seasons and 204 complete episodes.
“Half hopeful household drama, half epic survival story and half origin story of the American West, this contemporary adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s iconic semi-autobiographical Little Home books gives a kaleidoscopic view of the struggles and triumphs of those that formed the frontier,” a logline for the brand new present says.
Rebecca Sonnenshine is the collection’ showrunner and govt producer. She mentioned in an announcement, “I fell deeply in love with these books once I was 5 years outdated. They impressed me to turn out to be a author and a filmmaker, and I’m honored and thrilled to be adapting these tales for a brand new international viewers with Netflix.”
