JD is back…and he’s brought the whole gang along for the ride! On Tuesday, Nov. 25, an all-new teaser trailer for the Scrubs reboot gave fans a first look at JD (Zach Braff), Turk (Donald Faison), and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) as they saunter back into the hectic hallways of Sacred Heart Hospital. At one point, JD strikes a pose, boldly declaring, “I’m back, baby!” as a group of puzzled interns comically wonder if they’re supposed to know who these people are.
Nearly 15 years after its premiere, the hit medical comedy is finally returning in February 2026. According to the official logline, the show will follow the lives — and antics — of JD and Turk as they “scrub in together for the first time in a long time.”
“Medicine has changed; interns have changed; but their bromance has stood the test of time. Characters new and old navigate the waters of Sacred Heart with laughter, heart and some surprises along the way.”
Other fan-favorites returning to the laugh-packed sitcom include Carla (Judy Reyes), Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley), Dr. Todd Quinlan (Robert Maschio), and Dr. Ben “Hooch” Sullivan (Phill Lewis).

The New ‘Scrubs’ (2026) Will Blend Reboot and Revival
This isn’t the first time creator Bill Lawrence has tried to revitalize the popular comedy with a new show. In 2009, a 12-episode webseries titled Scrubs: Interns premiered on ABC.com. Unfortunately, after receiving low viewership and poor reviews, the spin-off was canceled after only one season.
More than a decade later, Lawrence wanted to bring back what fans loved about Scrubs by blending a reboot and a revival. Traditionally, a reboot serves as a remake of the concept for a show — often with a new main cast — while a revival is more similar to a sequel series, generally revisiting the original characters and catching up on their lives since the end of the flagship show.
Last month, Lawrence told Deadline that the “only real reason” to bring the series back was to do it as a “combo” and give fans the best of both worlds.
“A: people wanting to see what the world of medicine was like for the people they love, which is part of any successful reboot. But B: I think that show always worked because you get to see young people dropped into the world of medicine, knowing young people that go there are super idealistic and are doing it because it’s a calling. There’s no cliché ‘rich doctors playing golf’ — that’s not what it is anymore. So, I think that, no matter what it is, it would be a giant mistake not to do as a combo of those two things.”
The first episode of the Scrubs revival series premieres on Feb. 25 on ABC. Fans will also be able to catch it streaming on Hulu.
