Whereas quite a few celebrities cheered Jimmy Kimmel’s return to ABC on Tuesday evening (September 23), Roseanne Barr wasn’t amongst them — as a substitute, she slammed the community for what she described as a “double commonplace.”
Talking to NewsNation on Tuesday, Barr, whose sitcom Roseanne was canceled in 2018 after she posted a racist remark about former Barack Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett on X (then Twitter), stated ABC confirmed a “double commonplace” by reinstating Kimmel whereas she had her “complete life ruined.”
“It simply exhibits how they suppose. I bought my complete life ruined, no forgiveness, all of my work stolen, and referred to as a racist for time and eternity, for racially misgendering somebody,” she stated, per Leisure Weekly. “It’s a double commonplace.”
The Roseanne revival was canceled by ABC in 2018 after Barr in contrast Jarrett to “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a child.” Whereas Barr later deleted the publish and apologized, ABC stood by its determination, with former community president Channing Dungey saying, “Roseanne’s Twitter assertion is abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values, and we’ve got determined to cancel her present.”

The late-night host was suspended by Disney and ABC final week after feedback he made on-air concerning the taking pictures of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. This got here after highly effective station group Nexstar refused to air the present on its 32 broadcast associates.
As for Kimmel’s return on Tuesday, Barr added, “I feel he’ll cheer himself on and his followers, all — what’s it? — 2,000 of them.
