Rob Zombie has announced a new album, titled The Great Satan. In advance of its February 27th release via Nuclear Blast Records, the shock rocker has unveiled the single “Punks and Demons.”
The Great Satan is the follow-up to 2021’s The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy, and marks Zombie’s eighth studio album overall.
A press release touts the upcoming LP as a return to Zombie’s Hellbilly Deluxe days, and the single “Punks and Demons” backs up that description. The track is raw and thrashy, complete with a repeated “Satan” chant.
The album’s throwback sound can also be chalked up to Zombie’s current band lineup, which features the return of bassist Rob “Blasko” Nicholson and guitarist Mike Riggs, who both played on Hellbilly Deluxe (1999) and The Sinister Urge (2001). In recent years, they replaced Piggy D. and John 5, respectively.
