Rebecca Ferguson has doubled down on her previous comments about the “absolute idiot” actor who she said caused her life on the set of their joint project a “living hell.” She has also made it clear that she does not really care if the actor in question knows that it is them she is talking about.

Ferguson is currently appearing in A House of Dynamite, and during an interview with The Sunday Times to promote the film, she once again addressed her previous comments in relation to her experience with the unnamed actor. When asked if the person in question has been in touch with her since her comments, she said they had not, adding:

“I don’t care. Other people who have worked with this person also had a sh-tty time. I will shove someone under a bus in front of an entire crew to make a point. I don’t applaud my own behaviour in that. It’s a really tricky world. We put a lot of blame on bullies and when we get older we can understand that people are insecure. When you start standing up for yourself, it’s really tricky. They’ll fire you and give the job to someone else.”

Previously, Ferguson told Reign with Josh Smith podcast, “This person would literally look at me and say, ‘You call yourself an actor?’ I remember being so scared. And I looked at this person and said, ‘You can eff off. I’m going to work toward a tennis ball. I never want to see you again.’”

While Ferguson has said previously that the person she was referring to was not Tom Cruise, Hugh Jackman, or Ryan Reynolds, all of whom she had worked with prior to her comments being made, it is clearly not something that is going to remain hidden forever, as these things have a way of coming to the surface one way or another in Hollywood.

In the same interview, Ferguson discussed her latest role in A House of Dynamite, a tight, geopolitical thriller directed by Kathryn Bigalow. The film focuses on what happens when a nuclear missile is seen to be heading for Chicago, and what transpires in the 18 minutes that follows from several different viewpoints. This includes Fergusson’s intense Captain Olivia Walker, and Idris Elba as the president. Sharing the purpose of the movie, Ferguson said:

“In the Situation Room they are not allowed opinions,” Ferguson says. “Their job is to be the highest form of switchboard. They know who the president needs to speak to at a certain point, a vice-president or the head of Russia or China.” The film is “not about criticising who’s in charge — it’s questioning the fact that we have such a stockpile of nuclear weapons in the world and we don’t talk about it. Nine countries have active nuclear weapons but only three are part of Nato. What does that mean? What does it mean that one human being can start a nuclear war?”

A House of Dynamite is currently on a limited theatrical run, and will debut on Netflix on October 24, 2025.
