The Peaky Blinders saga will continue with two new seasons set to take place after the upcoming film.
Writer and creator Steven Knight has announced the show will return to BBC and Netflix for two six-episode seasons. “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story,” he said in a statement. “Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride.”
According to a synopsis, the seventh season of Peaky Blinders is set in 1953 Britain. “After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel,” the official logline reads. “In a new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythical dimensions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger: with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.”

Star Cillian Murphy, who is reprising his starring role as Tommy Shelby in the movie, will serve as an executive producer on the new seasons. While his on-screen return hasn’t been confirmed, The Sun reported in April that the actor “could” appear as a “father figure” to younger gang members rather than a leading role.
A release date for the new episodes hasn’t been announced yet, but The Sun reported a Summer 2025 filming schedule with a possible 2026 release.
The upcoming Peaky Blinders film, titled The Immortal Man, is expected to be released in early 2026. It stars Murphy alongside Barry Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson, and Stephen Graham.
