Attention all pirates! One Piece is getting ready to set sail yet again as the crew of the Straw Hat gang is returning for Season 2 in 2026. Based on Japan’s highest-selling manga series in history (and created by Eiichiro Oda) fans can expect another season full of adventures with Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and the Straw Hat crew.
With Pirate Gold Roger’s (Michael Dorman) mysterious fortune still up for grabs, pirates from across the Blue Planet are racing to claim the ultimate prize: the One Piece. The Straw Hats are in it to win it as they chart a course for the Grand Line, the perilous ocean route that circles the globe and divides the world into the Four Blues.
But when can we expect new adventures? And who will show up to either help or hinder the Straw Hats? Here is everything we know ahead of the show’s March 2026 return.
What is One Piece about?
One Piece is a high-seas adventure tracking Monkey D. Luffy (Godoy), a young adventurer who has longed for a life of freedom since he can remember. Luffy sets off from his small village on a perilous journey to find the legendary fabled treasure, One Piece, to become King of the Pirates. But in order to find the ultimate prize, Luffy will need to assemble the crew he’s always wanted before finding a ship to sail, searching every inch of the vast blue seas, outpacing the Marines, and outwitting dangerous rivals at every turn.
Season 2, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, will feature “fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet,” per Tudum. “Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line — a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”
Co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer Joe Tracz revealed to Tudum that Season 2 will see the Straw Hats travel the winter island of Drum Kingdom. “It’s our medieval Winterfell Game of Thrones location, where you have this haunted-seeming castle at the top of a snowy mountain inhabited by someone the villagers say is a witch,” he shared.
Tracz added, “Everything gets bigger. We are going to see giants and dinosaurs. We end up in the belly of a whale. Basically, our mantra for Season 2 is, ‘scale it all up.’”

Who is in the One Piece Season 2 cast?
Joining the Straw Hat crew in Season 2 is the much-beloved fan favorite doctor, Tony Tony Chopper. During Netflix’s 2025 Tudum event, the stars of Netflix’s hit adaptation took to the stage to reveal the latest member of the pirate gang: a reindeer-boy hybrid with the ability to cure the sick. Furry, fanciful, and fiercely loyal, the pint-sized practitioner of the healing arts.
Chopper will be voiced by Mikaela Hoover, known for her performances in Beef and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
“What excited me about playing Chopper is the tug of war between his standoffishness and his huge heart,” Hoover said in a statement. “He tries so hard to hide his emotions and put on a tough exterior, but underneath, he’s a big softy, and his love can’t help but come out.” The CG character is the work of the visual effects company Framestore and is based on Eiichiro Oda’s original design.
Previously announced for Season 2 were several other newcomers to the One Piece world. Katey Sagal will play Dr. Kureha. One Piece co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer Matt Owens previously told Tudum that the writers “knew how far we were going to get [in Season 2] and that this character Dr. Kureha was going to be a big part of the season.” A doctor on Drum Island and leader of the Isshi-100, Dr. Kureha is an ally to Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates.
Bridgerton star Charithra Chandran will play Miss Wednesday/Nefertari Vivi, a beloved character from the manga who plays a key role in the Arabasta Arc. As a member of the Baroque Works, the character helps hunt down the Straw Hats as they enter the Grand Line. Chandran played Edwina Sharma in Bridgerton Season 2 opposite Simone Ashley. And Joe Manganiello will play Mr. O, and Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin‘s Lera Abova is set to play Miss All-Sunday.
Season 1 of the live-action pirate adventure also stars Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

Ian Stokes will join Tracz as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
Is One Piece Season 2 filming?
Filming on Season 2, titled One Piece: Into the Grand Line, is a wrap! The cast commemorated the end of filming with a special photo for their fans back in February, 2025.
When does One Piece Season 2 come out?
The show’s second season will officially debut on Netflix on March 10, 2026.

Yes! On Aug. 9, Netflix not only dropped a first look teaser for Season 2, but revealed that the series was greenlit for a Season 3 as well, giving Straw Hat fans another reason to celebrate.
