In order to continue building up anticipation for the second season of Netflix’s One Piece, the streamer has been releasing exciting posters and graphics teasing the adventure that is in store for the Straw Hat Pirates. The live-action adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga of the same name has an exceptional challenge ahead of it as the crew heads into the Grand Line. This is in no small part due to the fantastical nature of One Piece, and the latest promotional material is a prime example of that. Get ready to meet two of the biggest characters in the series (literally).
Netflix has unveiled several new images from One Piece Season 2, which depict the Straw Hats as well as the two Giant Pirates, named Dorry and Brogy. In the world of One Piece, there are several races that inhabit the world besides humans, such as Fish-Men and giants. The Fish-Men were already introduced in Season 1, while Season 2 is set to introduce the first giants shown in the manga. Dorry will be played by Werner Coetser and Brogy by Brendan Murray, though the duo have undergone a significant transformation thanks to a combination of practical and special effects.
The latest promotional images tease some exciting action in the new season, as there is a peek at what looks to be Dorry and Brogy fighting. Their rivalry is a key point of the “Little Garden” arc from the original manga. Thankfully, the first season of Netflix’s One Piece never shied away from the bombastic action that helps to make the manga so memorable, and viewers can now look forward to giant fisticuffs in the upcoming season, presumably in the episode “Big Trouble in Little Garden,” which was a part of the list of confirmed episode titles.
Netflix’s ‘One Piece’ Season 2 Still Has Plenty of Story Arcs To Tease
Netflix’s promotion of the upcoming season of One Piece has been interesting, as the massive fan base of the manga and anime have looked forward to seeing how Oda’s world translates into live-action. The previous images released for Season 2, which teased the Loguetown and Laboon arcs that preceded Little Garden, also suggest that this won’t be the last new look at the series ahead of the show’s return. One Piece Season 2 does not have a release date, but it’s been confirmed to come out in 2026.
One Piece is also confirmed to be getting a third season, which also shows how confident Netflix is in the show. Although executive producer and showrunner Matt Owens stepped down from this role after the completion of Season 2, there are still key creative forces, such as Eiichiro Oda’s intense supervision in the writing and creation of the series, that will hopefully keep One Piece afloat. With a couple of more story arcs left to tease, it isn’t so far-fetched to assume that the next promotional images will feature the next character to join the Straw Hat crew, Tony Tony Chopper.
