Gather your friends and prepare for the longest binge-watch ever, because one of the best fantasy action series of the ’90s will soon stream on Netflix in HD. The series was already available on several streaming platforms, with UK fans able to watch the show for free on BBC iPlayer. US fans were once able to watch the series for free on Crunchyroll, before the show was put behind the streamer’s premium paywall. Netflix is already the home of a live-action adaptation and a simulcast of the show’s latest episodes. But for those who are on their 100th re-watch or new fans of the show who don’t want to deal with the lesser quality graphics of the early episodes, Netflix has you covered this November. That’s right, set sail for the Grand Line, because the HD remaster of One Piece is about to stream on Netflix.
Netflix will stream HD remastered episodes of One Piece from November 15. The “East Blue Saga”, which is the first main saga in the manga, consisting of the first 12 volumes, will stream on Netflix later this month. Netflix will drop the first 16 episodes on November 15, followed by 15 new episodes on December 15, and another 15 episodes on January 15. Originally, only Netflix France was set to receive the episodes. But US viewers will also get to experience One Piece‘s opening arc in HD.
One Piece is based on the best-selling and long-running manga by Eiichiro Oda. As well as becoming a pop culture sensation, with a fandom stretching around the globe, One Piece is also notorious for having a ludicrously high episode count. At the time of writing, there are over 1,140 episodes of Toei Animation’s anime. But that number will grow exponentially in the years to come.
‘One Piece’ Is Getting Another Anime
Picture the scene: you’ve finally made it through all 1,140+ episodes of One Piece, and even checked out Netflix’s live-action adaptation; you open your phone, only to see that even more One Piece is on the way. That’s what happened to millions of fans in 2024 when WIT Studio (Attack on Titan & Vinland Saga) announced it would be producing yet another One Piece anime. Toei Animation’s anime is nowhere near finished (despite being over 1,000 episodes), but Eiichiro Oda’s manga is already getting a second adaptation.
WIT Studio’s anime, titled The One Piece, doesn’t yet have a release date. However, Netflix will continue to be the streaming service of choice for fans of Oda’s work as The One Piece will stream exclusively on Netflix. The streamer will also soon be unveiling the second season of its live-action adaptation. Blue Beetle‘s Xolo Maridueña has joined the cast of One Piece as Ace (as many fans assumed he had, following the countless rumors online). Season 2 of One Piece is currently slated to release on Netflix on March 10, 2026.
