After nearly three years away from the spotlight, producer extrodinare Monte Booker returns with his debut album titled noise (meaning), set to arrive this Friday.
At his height, Chicago-based producer Monte Booker was at the forefront of the producer Soundcloud scene and had helped shape the sound of numerous acts who are now superstars in their own right. His three-year hiatus has meant an evolution in his sound, where he seams to lean more towards a live aesthetic. The second single “defense” with Nami is a marvelous example, albeit with a rich soulful charm by virtue of the silk-like vocal performance and laid-back acoustic guitar plucks. Distortion from the electric guitar and bass arrangements add a sense of warmth to the mix, rounding out the track with a cozy depth that complements its tender groove.
