Miss Austen has a premiere date. The Masterpiece collection will air on PBS in Might. The interval drama, based mostly on Gill Hornby’s novel, tells the story of Jane Austen’s sister.
Keeley Hawes, Rose Leslie, Synnøve Karlsen, Patsy Ferran, Max Irons, Alfred Enoch, Calam Lynch, and Phyllis Logan star within the drama, which is a reimagining of the thriller of Cassandra Austen burning her sister Jane’s letters.
Masterpiece revealed the next concerning the collection:
“In Miss Austen, the drama begins in 1830, a few years after Jane has died. Cassandra rushes to go to Isabella, the niece of her long-dead fiancé, who’s about to lose her house following her father’s loss of life. Cassandra is ostensibly there to assist Isabella, however her actual motive is to discover a hidden bundle of personal letters, which, within the unsuitable fingers, she fears might destroy Jane’s status.
On discovering them, Cassandra is overwhelmed as she is transported again to her youth. In flashback, we meet Younger Cassy and Jane as they navigate the romantic infatuations, household feuds and dashed hopes which formed their lives, and laid the foundations for Jane’s unforgettable tales. Cassandra’s re-evaluation of her previous finally leads her to discover a technique to information Isabella in the direction of the trail of true happiness.”
