Drenched in blissful teen nostalgia, Mikey Demilio’s “I Dont Know How To Speak” is what happens when you mix all-time classics like Foster The People, Gorillaz and MGMT into a bowl of hazy happiness.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Mikey grew up inspired by modern day psychedelia, shoegaze and electronic music, traces of which you can sense in his art. I didn’t expect to get such an emotional reaction to a song, but “I Dont Know How To Speak” brings up memories from the early Stereofox days back in 2013. I love the feeling of mellow carelessness in it and the overall vocal stance on both the chorus and the vocals.
The song is part of his 3rd studio album, This Feeling Is Ours, released on October 6th.
