Lykke Li has launched a brand new EP of covers.
Titled Covers, the three-song undertaking sees the Swedish singer ship renditions of “Into My Arms” by Nick Cave & The Dangerous Seeds, “Stand By Me” by Ben E. King, and “Love Hurts’ by The Everly Brothers, showcasing her haunting croon and knack for minimalist preparations.
The duvet of “Into My Arms,” particularly, builds off the stripped again tone of Cave’s authentic, constructing out the sonic house with an ethereal, swirling ambiance and reverb-clad melodies, all whereas retaining the intimacy of Cave’s lyrics.
Covers arrives at this time through Play It Once more Sam as a shock, and might be streamed beneath.
Covers is Li’s first assortment of songs since her 2022 album, EYEYE, and follows one other cowl (of Johnny Money’s “Ring of Hearth”) launched in March 2024.
