Lizzo is again together with her second new music of the yr, the disco-tinged “Nonetheless Dangerous.”
“Nonetheless Dangerous” follows prior single “Love In Actual Life,” which served as Lizzo’s first new music providing since her 2023 contribution to the Barbie soundtrack. It’s the second preview of her upcoming fifth studio album, which has but to obtain an official launch date.

The music finds Lizzo rising from the ashes after the tip of a relationship. “Plot twist, I’m doing nice,” she sings within the second verse over a thumping bass groove, later saying that “I don’t want him, I would like a drink” and singing, “He knocked me down/ I believed I’d by no means get my tremendous ass off the bottom.” She’s recruited common collaborators Ricky Reed and Blake Slatkin for the music’s manufacturing, which is slick, bass-forward, and appropriately groovy. Lizzo’s final album was 2022’s Particular, which was bolstered by the success of the Grammy-winning lead single “About Rattling Time.” In the meantime, the 2 new tracks mark Lizzo’s return after being sued in a pair of harassment lawsuits in 2023.
