Dwelling Color are the newest act to play a Tiny Desk Live performance for NPR, and the legendary act delivered a five-song set of classics.
The veteran rockers kicked issues off with their signature hit “Cult of Character” from their 1988 debut album Vivid, adopted by 4 songs (“Satisfaction,” “Love Rears Its Ugly Head,” “Time’s Up,” and “Solace of You”) from their acclaimed 1990 sophomore LP Time’s Up, in celebration of the album’s thirty fifth anniversary.
The longtime lineup of singer Corey Glover, guitarist Vernon Reid, drummer Will Calhoun, and bassist Doug Wimbish performed a full-on electrical set regardless of the intimate setting, sounding as highly effective as ever. Followers can catch Dwelling Color supporting George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic this Sunday (June twenty ninth) in Asbury Park, New Jersey (tickets right here), and subsequent yr on Creed’s Summer season of ’99 and Past Cruise.
