Living Colour performed their classic song “Cult of Personality” on Thursday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
With Kimmel filming the late-night show at the Brooklyn Academy of Music this week, and following his recent suspension after irking MAGA for a comment surrounding the the slaying of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk, the late-night host has been inviting President Trump nemeses like Stephen Colbert and Bruce Springsteen on the program.
So, it’s no wonder he asked New York City’s own Living Colour to perform “Cult of Personality,” a song whose very title refers to the effort to create a heroic image around a political figure, with lines like: “You gave me fortune, you gave me fame/ You gave me power in your god’s name/ I’m every person you need to be/ Oh, I’m the cult of personality.”

The veteran band rocked a rousing version of the song, with Corey Glover belting out the lyrics, and Vernon Reid proving why he’s one of the greatest guitarists of all time.
Living Colour have a few dates on their upcoming itinerary, including an October 29th gig at NYC’s Power of Music Benefit Concert and an appearance on Creed’s Summer of ’99 and Beyond cruise next April.
