A wild new trailer for Cold Storage has debuted online, teaming Liam Neeson with Stranger Things alum Joe Keery and Barbarian star Georgina Campbell for a night of zombie horror madness. The footage teases an action-packed and outrageous ride that sees a nightshift turn into a nightmare when a parasitic fungus escapes from deep cold storage, mutates, and spreads from underground to overground at dangerously rapid levels. The fate of humanity lies in the hands of two young employees at a self-storage facility and a retired bioterror operative, according to the official synopsis for the sci-fi infected comedy (below), but it remains to be seen whether they are successful in their high-stakes mission to save mankind from extinction.
“When a highly contagious, mutating fungus escapes a sealed facility, two young employees, joined by a grizzled bioterror operative, must survive the wildest night shift ever to save humanity from extinction, as the microorganism spreads and destroys everything in its path.”
Cold Storage hails from the acclaimed screenwriter of Jurassic Park, David Koepp, based on his 2019 novel of the same name, with Westworld director Jonny Campbell directing. Zombieland‘s Gavin Polone produces, along with Koepp, who previously asserted that the feature has “everything I’d want to see in a movie – it’s scary, funny, exhilarating, surprising, and riotously entertaining. He also noted that the team behind it have “huge ambitions” for it. Campbell added in a separate statement when the project was announced in 2022:
“Cold Storage is classic entertainment combining epic scale and microscopic detail. I was instantly hijacked by David’s mischievously witty tone and his unique blend of comic absurdity and visionary reality. Who wouldn’t fall in love with a gut-wrenching alien parasite?”
