Former vice president Kamala Harris recently made a stop to Third Man Records, the Nashville-based record store, pressing plant, and music venue owned and operated by Jack White.
There, per White, “she met with local musicians and songwriters for a chat in our HQ and she was so cool and inspiring to the staff and creators at TMR, and we hope we inspired her as well.” White also got to show Harris the original Scully Lathe from King Records in Cincinnati that Third Man uses to record all of its live to acetate concerts, “which prompted her to say we need to send a photo to Bootsy Collins in that case of us next to the lathe!”
Harris is currently on a book tour. White was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The White Stripes.
