A release that feels both timeless and modern, JONES’ 5-track In The Moment EP is a release I cherish fondly. While it does feel rather nostalgic, there’s this hopeful playfulness engraved in the base code of each of the tracks on there, including today’s highlight “Don’t Wanna Say Goodnight”.
Soulful melodies, organic textures, and lush synths, built on the solid foundations of JONES’ view of modern alternative r&b. This one feels like a bridge between generations and it deals with themese that will be forever relevant for us, humans – heartbreak, joy, and being present. Especially in the era we live in, I feel it’s important to be aware of the importance of just being here in the moment, stealing a few precious moments for yourself and your loved ones and disregard the pace of the world outside.
“Don’t Wanna Say Goodnight” is a 21st century lullaby we all need.
