Jon Gurd and Reset Robotic’s collaboration “Attract” has a sound that’s strikingly much like Bicep. The monitor is a showcase of their spectacular ability for creating immersive worlds and complex soundscapes.
The UK-based Jon Gurd possesses a novel aesthetic encompassing genres like techno, deep home, electronica, and progressive home. On “Attract” – and a few of his newer tracks – he is dived right into a futuristic model of UK storage that feels otherworldly because of the shimmering synths and beguiling vocal samples unfold throughout the combo. That is bolstered by a punchy rhythm part and a beefy bass line. This, together with “Reflector” on the EP, has undoubtedly been one in all my favourite finds this week!
