The Grinch famously had a jam-packed schedule – which included wallowing in self-pity, staring into the abyss, solving world hunger (telling no one), jazzercize… the list goes on – but it seems that Jim Carrey has been just as busy in the 25 years since he starred as the green, mean one in the beloved holiday classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas in 2000, as he hadn’t found time to catch up with his co-star Taylor Momsen up until recently. The Cindy Lou Who actress reunited with Carrey at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Nov. 8 to honor the grunge rock band Soundgarden.
Videos of Carrey and Momsen reuniting started to surface on social media, as the two actors were all smiles while posing together for photos and shared a warm embrace on the red carpet. “We haven’t seen each other since The Grinch,” Carrey told reporters, prompting Momsen to confirm, “Yeah, it’s been 25 years. This is insane.” And if that wasn’t enough to make your heart grow three sizes, Momsen had nothing but praise for Carrey when speaking to People about her experiences working on the big-screen Dr. Seuss adaptation. The 32-year-old musician, whose Whoville character befriended the Mount Crumpit-dweller, told the outlet:
“I just love that he was very protective of me. He was always very kind. And just the entire experience of filming Grinch and getting to know him so well, even in all the makeup, was just wonderful. As a young person watching an artist at work and taking their craft so seriously, that left a really powerful, lasting impact on me as an adult now. And I’m excited to be able to tell him that as a grownup.”
