Country star Jelly Roll had a less-than-ideal time Down Under on his first-ever tour of Australia and New Zealand.
The “Son of a Sinner” singer opened up about the experience during an interview with the Australian-based No Filter with Kate Langbroek podcast.
“I’m doing the worst mentally I’ve done in a long time,” he told Langbroek when asked about how he copes while on the road. “It’s really hitting me that I’m really far from home, like in an anxious way,” adding, “This trip over here fucked my stomach up. It fucked my stomach up in a way my stomach hasn’t been fucked up in a year or two.”

Jelly Roll went on to say that due to the way the tour was set up without buses, he’s felt “super isolated” along the way. “I don’t like it. I’m having to spend a lot of time in my hotel room by myself, just in my head… I’m not having fun. I want to go home.” Watch the interview below.
Making things worse was an unfortunate incident at a Louis Vuitton store in Sydney where the singer was profiled by the staff.
“Hey man, The Louis Vuitton in Sydney, legitimately just treated us like we were finna come in and rob that place,” he revealed on his Instagram Stories (via People). “I have never been looked at more like a… Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad.. I was an actual criminal this bad.”
Ultimately, Jelly Roll canceled the final date of the tour due to illness, which was slated for the Outer Fields at Western Springs in Auckland, on November 7th.
“I just can’t shake it. It breaks my heart, I’ve probably missed three shows in the last decade,” he shared on Instagram Stories (via Billboard). ”I pride myself on showing up no matter what. Just couldn’t do it this time. Please forgive me.”
In happier news, Jon Bon Jovi recently extolled Jelly Roll’s virtues during an interview on Joel Madden’s Artist Friendly podcast: “Oh my God, I can’t say enough about him. He’s an inspiration,” Bon Jovi raved. “You know, I mean, what he’s done physically is one thing and that’s okay, wonderful, God bless him for it”, he added in regards to the singer’s weight loss journey. “But the inside of that man, and the life he’s lived and the example he’s being for that audience, and his wife is the same way. I can’t say enough good about him.”
