Lately Jacana Folks has undergone fairly a sonic evolution, and one of many tracks that spotlight this sentiment is their soulful gem “Again Residence”.
With the cohesive aesthetic of their latest paintings and their newly refined sound, it’s possible that the UK-based duo has an EP on the horizon and we won’t wait. “Again Residence” certainly stands out of their catalog due to its fascinating rhythm part – they’ve paired vibrant percussion with electronic-sounding/808-sounding drums, one thing we do not typically hear from them. Floating within the foreground are these closely distorted soulful vocals that complement the monitor’s moody ambiance. That is definitely my faverite launch from the 2 thus far and I am fairly delighted to listen to what’s subsequent!
