While Netflix is looking to acquire Warner Bros. and inevitably change the theatrical landscape for good, 2025 proved that nothing beats the moviegoing experience. It’s no secret that WB had one of the best years of all time for a studio, and part of that is thanks to a robust slate of films people flocked to theaters to see. According to a new statistic for 2025, audiences are still gravitating toward films released in theaters above all else.
IMDb released their Most Popular Movies on the platform in 2025, with the likes of Superman, Weapons, Sinners and One Battle After Another dominating the list. In fact, only two out of the ten included were straight-to-streaming films, both coming from Netflix. It should also be noted that Frankenstein was one of the few titles from the streamer that had a theatrical release. Check out the rest of the top ten movies on IMDb in 2025:
