If you’re a fan of everything Home Alone, and you’re planning the annual celebration by rewatching the Christmas classic, we have great news for you. In 2025, Disney+ is taking its marketing strategy to the next level, and in just a matter of days, you’ll be able to watch and live the world of Home Alone like never before.
Coming Soon reports that the strategy in question includes tributes of many kinds. For starters, fans who own a VIZIO device can open the Disney+ app by simply shouting “Kevin!” into the remote control. They just have to make sure they sound similar to how Kevin’s mom screams out his name when she’s on an airplane, and has realized she forgot to bring her boy.
For those traveling this year, Disney+ has made sure to add a fun little feature during the airport experience. The streamer and CLEAR have teamed up to create the “No Kevin Left Behind” airport activation between December 17 and 21. CLEAR+ Members traveling through participating airports will get Home Alone-themed ornaments. Also, passengers actually named “Kevin” who use select CLEAR+ Lanes “will be receiving a code for a complimentary CLEAR Concierge service for a future trip.”
The plan to bring Home Alone to life this Christmas also includes recreating an iconic moment in the franchise. Fans will be able to purchase pizza from Little Nero’s Pizzeria, the pizza place featured in the 1990 film. Prince St. Pizza will be in charge of selling the pies nationwide from December 10 to 17. Per Coming Soon, the pizza chain will feature “Little Nero’s pizza boxes, updated menus, and collectible packaging, with pizzerias in Chicago and Toronto incorporating Little Nero’s decor and branded elements.” Zack Jerome, a Disney+ head, expressed his excitement about the strategy:
“Disney+ is excited to celebrate a movie that’s become such a holiday staple for families everywhere, mine included. We can’t wait to bring elements from the film into the real world, so people can experience them up close, and if they share my enthusiasm, finally order ‘a lovely cheese pizza just for me’ from Little Nero’s.”
1990’s Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York have become a staple of the Christmas season. It’s difficult to find a movie franchise that gets revisited as much as Home Alone, along with other classics like It’s a Wonderful Life, Elf, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Disney is just capitalizing on this, and the strategy’s expected success is proof of the 35-year-old film’s cultural impact.
The McCallister Home Is a Cinema Icon, and It Will Be Rebuilt (Well, Sort Of)
Disney+ and Hulu are also teaming up to break a world record. The strategy to promote Home Alone as a timeless Christmas classic also includes the construction of the McCallister home. Only this time, it will be a gingerbread house.
The team behind the project will pursue a world record by building the world’s largest gingerbread house. It will be located in Los Angeles, at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, and will be 58 feet long, 42 feet wide, and 25.6 feet tall. Fans can already plan their visit, as the house will be open to the public on December 18 and 19.
