Disney’s original animation Hexed will be landing in theaters over the Thanksgiving weekend. Its early opening weekend estimates are already all over the media. Since then, one of the biggest questions remains whether it will break into 2026’s top 5 three-day opening weekends! So keep scrolling for the numbers.
How much is Hexed tracking to earn on its opening weekend at the North American box office?
According to early estimates, the upcoming animation is expected to surpass Encanto’s opening weekend box office total at the North American box office. It could be the best debut for an original animated film since 2016’s Moana. The Disney movie is expected to earn $35 million to $45 million in its three-day opening weekend at the domestic box office. Since it is a Thanksgiving release, it will experience a long weekend. Therefore, the early estimates suggest that the animation could earn between $50 million and $70 million over the five-day domestic debut.
Can its 3-day debut break into 2026’s top opening weekends in North America?
Hexed is undoubtedly set for a solid start at the North American box office despite being an original animated film, but breaking into 2026’s top 5 3-day opening weekends list will require more. According to Box Office Mojo‘s data, Michael has the 5th-biggest opening weekend at the North American box office. It collected $97.2 million in its three-day domestic debut. Hexed will not be able to beat that even with its projected five-day debut collection.
