Hank Northrop joins Days of Our Lives during the week of 10-27-25, and his character could be serious trouble.
The son of late DAYS legend Wayne Northrop debuts as Liam, the troubled kid that Abe is tutoring — and who was once Theo’s worst enemy.
This story could be one of Days of Our Lives‘ most powerful if it’s done right. Let’s hope the newest writing team handles it better than some previous writers would have.

Northrop’s Character Is The Latest Bad Boy, But That Might Not Be So Terrible
Days of Our Lives has a long history of bringing on bad boys who turn their lives around after wreaking havoc for a while.
Steve and Bo were the OG bad boys, and JJ followed in Jack’s footsteps, letting his anger get the best of him and then feeling guilty and unworthy of love because of it.
And now we also have Jeremy trying to show he’s a changed man while Alex hurls accusations at him.
So Liam will be in good company if he comes to Salem looking for trouble.
Right now, the only tie he has to Salem is that he used to bully Theo in high school, which means the two will probably butt heads a lot, especially with Abe tutoring Liam.
Still, this could be an interesting story that leads to redemption, especially if Liam falls hard for someone.

Liam’s Story Could Go Anywhere
We don’t know anything about him yet, other than what Theo said.
Supposedly, Liam is now looking to turn things around, and that’s why Abe is offering him GED tutoring.
This could be a compelling story, depending on how it’s handled.
Soap operas. Reality TV. Primetime dramas (and comedies). We cover it all.

Days of Our Lives used to excel at the social issues stories back in the 1980s and 1990s, and Liam’s story has that potential.
If Abe is right that the reason Liam used to act out is that he had undiagnosed learning disabilities and couldn’t keep up academically, that could lead to a story where Liam has to grapple with his lack of self-confidence and belief that he’s stupid, as well as eventually take accountability for the things he did as a teenager.

That would be a powerful story.
Liam Could Also Get Spun Into a Love Story
Years ago, former gang member Emilio and former bad boy Jack fought bitterly for Jennifer’s heart.
Liam could go in the same direction.
Ari’s already expressed interest in Theo even though Holly said he was too old for Ari, so the logical thing is for Liam to fall for her or vice versa.
This setup would allow the high school rivals to fight it out for the woman they are both attracted to, with Theo as the pillar of the community and Liam as the bad boy Gabi won’t want anywhere near her baby girl.
It’s not exactly the same as Emilio vs. Jack, but it’s giving me similar vibes already.

Of course, Days of Our Lives doesn’t have to go in this direction at all. Liam could be a run-of-the-mill bad kid who stays bad, messes with Theo, and eventually gets caught.
I hope not, though. That would be incredibly disappointing.
Are you excited, annoyed, or apathetic about Hank Northrop joining Days of Our Lives?
Whatever your opinion is, I can’t wait to hear it. Put it in the comments and don’t forget to share this article with your friends so they can join in the fun.
We just went through all that with Sophia’s baby drama. We don’t need someone else pretending to be a decent person while tormenting others for no reason.
Besides, DAYS has such a long tradition of bad boys who go good when they meet the woman (or man! — look at Leo.) of their dreams.
There’s no reason to break that habit now, unless Northrop is only there temporarily, and his status as the late Wayne Northrop’s son is the hook DAYS hopes will get people watching.

Theo Is Only One Of A Bunch of Angry People On Days of Our Lives During The Week of 10-27-25
Theo’s been mad for weeks. He doesn’t want JJ working as a cop and he doesn’t want his dad working with Liam.
He can’t control any of that, though he may try. He’s supposed to have another run-in with JJ this week.
Theo’s in good company, because it seems half of Salem is angry.
I’m especially disappointed in Maggie. She’s often the voice of reason, but now she’s declaring war on Xander.
Wasn’t Maggie the one who was encouraging Sarah to forgive and forget the last time she and Xander were on the outs?
And more to the point, Maggie was married to Victor. And yes, sometimes she did walk out on him temporarily when she felt he’d gone too far, but she put up with a lot of crap because she loved him.

I’m not advocating for Sarah to stay with Xander. Her fear that his out-of-control rage could be turned against her or Victoria is valid.
Domestic violence doesn’t work the way Xander claims. You can’t compartmentalize like that and decide you’re only going to lose your temper with strangers (which isn’t even a good thing, either, but that’s beside the point.)
However, Maggie is being SUCH a hypocrite.
She never should have taken it upon herself to prove that Xander was the one who beat up Philip in the first place, and now that the truth is out, what business does she have trying to destroy Xander?
The only reason she’s doing any of this is that she’s angry that Xander hurt Sarah.

Revenge isn’t a good look on her. Leave Xander alone.
Meanwhile, Brady And Sarah Will Break A Bunch of Stuff Together
I feel like I’ve seen this idea of getting your rage out by breaking a bunch of glass things somewhere else, but I don’t know where.
This exercise is probably designed to bring Sarah and Brady closer together and maybe turn them into. a couple.
I always thought these two had potential. It would be more interesting if Sarah were an alcoholic too, which is how I did it in my fanfiction, but the way it’s being done is fine, I guess.
Still, I’m not a fan of this breaking glass story. No real reason. I just don’t like it.

Thoughts About Other Days of Our Lives Spoilers During the Week of 10-27-25
- Jeremy seems like a strange choice to comfort Amy Choi. Please tell me the writers don’t have thoughts about putting these two together!
- Stephanie revealing that she’s “Anastasia Sands” is supposed to take place on Halloween. I hope that we’re skipping the Halloween dream sequence nonsense this year and just getting to the real story.
- EJ learns that Tony has disappeared. So… was that the real Tony who left, or has it been Andre all along?
