Foo Fighters broke their long-standing tradition of playing an extended version of their 1999 song “Breakout” during their show at GLION ARENA KOBE in Japan on Friday night. As captured in the fan-shot footage below, they instead surprised the audience by playing the shorter, album-length version instead.
According to one Redditor, this marked Dave Grohl and company’s first time performing the short version of “Breakout” since their show at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California, on February 7th, 2002.
While introducing the song, Grohl hinted as much by saying, “Let’s do something we haven’t done in a long, long time.”
