The last few weeks have seen the internet being flooded with hundreds of videos and images claiming to be taken on the set of Avengers: Doomsday, and all of them are fake, regardless of how real some of them appear to be. Now though, a Disney event in Italy has showcased the announced cast of the upcoming superhero movie ahead of the expected teaser being released later this month.
As shared online, the new video features a wallboard of familiar faces from Marvel’s past and present, including all the stars named in the marathon chair reveal event several months ago. This includes, but is not limited to, Chris Hemsworth, Simu Liu, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and Pedro Pascal, as well as the man of the moment, Robert Downey Jr. who will rejoin the MCU as Doctor Doom.
The video shares no new details about the movie, but that could come very soon, with CCXP happening this week and the upcoming trailer expected to begin a very long marketing campaign for what will probably be the biggest movie of 2026. You can see the footage in the post below.
‘Avengers: Doomsday’ “Leaks” are Getting Out of Hand
While there have been some very convincing images doing the rounds online recently, these have so far been nothing but fabrications of AI-generation tools. A recent run of images seemed to show returning X-Men stars Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James Mardsen, and more in a make-up room in full comic-accurate costumes. Of course, these, like others showing Robert Downey Jr. on a blue-screen set, are fake.
So far, there have been some hints at what is coming in the next Avengers movie, but nothing substantial enough to be called a spoiler. Drone footage of a set that was originally said to be “Luke Cage House,” and several wrap-gifts bearing vaguely recognizable looks at some of the characters are the only genuine images that have been confirmed to exist online.
Obviously, as the movie’s release draws closer, this is likely to change, and with more filming expected to take place early next year, it is possible that we will see more spoilery images find their way into the public domain that is X. In the meantime, though, the world is waiting to see whether the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will follow Christopher Nolan’s summer tease for The Odyssey, and give fans a tantalizing glimpse at a movie they will have to wait another year to see.
The MCU has been through some tough times in the past few years, with every high, like Deadpool & Wolverine and Spider-Man: No Way Home, being countered by box office disappointments like Captain America: Brave New World and The Marvels. 2026 will not be looking to follow the latter trend, as the summer’s release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday in December are as close to guaranteed to hit $1 billion as any movie could be right now.
