The primary album from the late Q Lazzarus, an artist greatest identified for her music “Goodbye Horses” which featured prominently within the 1991 movie The Silence of the Lambs, will lastly arrive in 2025.
Q Lazzarus was the stage title of Diane Luckey, a New Jersey-born singer and songwriter who rose to prominence after a collection of collaborations with the director Jonathan Demme, from 1986’s One thing Wild to 1993’s Philadelphia; rumor has it, Luckey was a taxi driver all through the ’80s as her music profession struggled, which modified someday when she picked up Demme and performed him her music (to which he responded, “Oh my God, what is that this and who’re you?”). The movie’s logline reads, “An intimate journey via the lifetime of singer Diane Luckey also referred to as Q Lazzarus, narrated via her personal phrases, lyrics and music. The exceptionally gifted however vastly under-appreciated Q, who sang the cult hit music ‘Goodbye Horses,’ reveals the explanation behind her mysterious 25-year-long disappearance and paves the way in which in the direction of her re-emergence, with tales heartbreaking, hilarious and shifting.”
As for the album, the report label Sacred Bones has confirmed as we speak (Luckey’s birthday) that they’ll be releasing Goodbye Horses: The Many Lives Of Q Lazzarus in February.
