The upcoming motion thriller Gunmaaster G9, starring Emraan Hashmi and Genelia Deshmukh, has encountered a setback even earlier than filming may start. The shoot, initially scheduled to start in mid-July in a village close to Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, has been postponed as a result of heavy rainfall and hostile climate situations in North India.

As per a report by Mid-Day, director Aditya Datt confirmed the delay, citing security considerations as the first purpose for halting the schedule. “The state of affairs in North India, particularly Uttarakhand and even Delhi, has been fairly critical. Whereas our staff was wanting to push ahead, for me, the protection of my crew comes first. We’re coping with actual areas, not units, and the chance issue turns into too excessive in such climate,” he defined.
The staff has now pushed the shoot to September, hoping for clearer skies and improved floor situations. “We’d fairly wait and shoot with full depth as soon as the skies clear,” Datt added.
Producer Deepak Mukut echoed the sentiment, noting the logistical challenges the climate has posed. “We’ve all seen how the rains have wreaked havoc, leading to street closures, flooding, and landslides. It’s not the appropriate time to shoot. We made this resolution unanimously.”
The movie, which generated early buzz for reuniting Emraan Hashmi with music composer Himesh Reshammiya – recognized for delivering a number of hits collectively within the 2000s—will resume preparations nearer to the brand new schedule in September.
