But if you want our in-depth thoughts about the hour, and to join the healthy discussions in the comment section dissecting the series, then head to our Doc Season 2 Episode 5 Review for all the fun!

    (John Medland/FOX)

Two sisters are having coffee together, discussing their jobs, when one of them notices a guy at the other table. Jess, the one sister, faceplants into her plate in the middle of their meal.

At Amy’s apartment, she’s searching through all of her belongings trying to find the snow globe that she pictured, and it’s driving her mad, but Katie doesn’t remember it.

Jake drops his daughter off at his ex’s house, and she tries to talk to him about his love life. She thinks he’s still single and not seeing anyone, and seems excited when he says that he does have someone, but it’s basically complicated.

It seems like a pleasant enough exchange, but then Jake makes a dig at her in reference to her infidelity, and it gets awkward. He leaves.

Back in the locker room. It’s tense between Amy and Sonya. And Sonya practically ignores Jake when she walks out. Meanwhile, Amy is about to do the same. He apologizes for suggesting they should be on different services for a while, and she points out that it’s what he wanted, or perhaps there’s something else going on, given his position as her superior.

    (John Medland/FOX)

The board smoothed things over with UNOS, but now the head of the board is asking that Michael woo over a prominent donor. The donor wants the money to go to labor and delivery specifically, and apparently, the donor is Sonya’s father, who requested she be on the tour with them.

Hannah is treating Jess, and it all seems well, but then Jess seems to have a sudden mood change and even throws things. Jake notices that Jess is fully asleep despite her behavior.

Amy treats a guy who must’ve seized and had diabetic issues while at spin class. Sal and his wife are also on Ozempic, but it doesn’t seem to be working for him. He starts seizing again.

In flashbacks, Katie and Michael are at the therapist’s office waiting for Amy to show up. Katie is frustrated with her mother for treating them both poorly and with Michael for excusing Amy’s behavior. Katie lashes out at some people in therapy.

Meanwhile, in the present, Katie goes through boxes and finds the snowglobe.

Amy tells Sal’s wife that he’s walking a tightrope on survival.

Meanwhile, as they’re treating Jess and giving her a sleep study, her sister, Casey, hits on Jak, which amuses Hannah and the nurse.

    (John Medland/FOX)

Sonya and Michael greet her father when he arrives, but it’s clear that she is uncomfortable with her dad.

Joan shows up while Amy is running scans on Sal. She has strong opinions about Ozempic, believing that people lack the willpower to help themselves lose weight. Joan also seems critical of Amy not initially catching something, but then she asks her something else and is impressed by Amy’s answer.

Amy figures out through more testing that Sal has a dietary infection. His bloodwork proves that he has been cheating on his diet, and he stopped taking Ozempic. It upsets his wife, Dawn, and she leaves for air.

Amy assures him that she’ll get him some professional help. He struggles with stress and food being a vice, and his wife can’t be his everything.

Jess and Casey watch a video of Jess sleep-talking, revealing that she says the brutal truth about her feelings on everything, including her sister, while she’s sleeping. Meanwhile, Casey is still hitting on Jake.

Jess has epilepsy. And the nurse tells Casey that Jake is divorced.

    (John Medland/FOX)

Jake sees Michael and Sonya giving her father the tour, and she still doesn’t seem comfortable or pleased. Meanwhile, her father is excited to see Amy, even though she doesn’t remember him. He talks about how Amy sung Sonya’s praises before.

He wants to steal Sonya away for lunch, but she lies, telling him that Joan needs her to check on patients again, which Michael notices.

Amy and Dawn notice that Sal is gone, and they track him down at a vending machine. Dawn tells him that she’s done with him because she can’t stand there and watch him kill himself. Dawn passes out while she’s leaving.

In the flashbacks, Katie remains upset in therapy because Michael refuses to acknowledge his truth and accept that Amy’s behavior is unacceptable. She feels like Michael keeps trying to protect Amy and act as a peacekeeper.

The therapist encourages Michael to be honest with Katie, acknowledging that her feelings are valid and that Amy’s behavior toward them is unacceptable.

    (John Medland/FOX)

Currently, Michael checks in on Sonya. She tells him that the guy who raped her was the son of her father’s business partner. She only told her mother about her rape, but not her father, because of her father. And she feels that her father’s reaction when the news came out wasn’t great.

She hasn’t been able to see her parents and talk to them about things yet.

Michael gives Sonya advice on how to cope with grief and move forward.

Dawn abused her Ozempic use, which caused her issues.

Casey asks Jake to convince Jess to quit her job as a teacher because she feels it’s triggering her epilepsy. But Jake also tries to gently point out that maybe her overshadowing her sister may be an issue, too.

Initially, Casey doesn’t want to hear that, but then sleepwalking Jess comes into the hall shouting about her sister taking things, including her doctor, kisses Jake, and passes out.

    (John Medland/FOX)

Sal confides in Amy, saying he loves Dawn, but now he feels she can’t love him unless he changes. She tells him that he has to get better for himself, not just Dawn.

In flashbacks, Katie and Amy finally have therapy together. Katie mentions that her parents are getting a divorce because she saw Amy looking at apartments on her phone. And she saw her mother’s texts too. Katie doesn’t understand how Amy can just give up on Michael.

Amy also talks to Dawn to try to reason with her about taking the drugs and how her behavior is not that different from what Sal did.

Sonya speaks to her father outside on her terms. She tells him what he needs, and he says that he’ll try.

Dawn and Sal talk things out, but it’s unlikely their marriage will survive. When Amy talks to Joan about it, she seems to agree. Amy finally brings up that she remembers Joan telling her to leave Michael, and Joan says it was tough love.

    (John Medland/FOX)

Amy also asks her about talking to Jake instead of her.

Sonya thanks Michael for his help. However, it seems her father isn’t donating the money, which may impact Michael’s job.

Katie finds the snow globe, and she recalls a memory of her still having issues with her mother two years after her mother moved. Amy gave it to her as a gift, but Katie wasn’t having it.

Casey, the patient’s sister, hits on Jake again, asking him out. He tries to say that he just got out of something and he isn’t looking for anything serious, but she reminds him that she’s leaving the next day and isn’t either. Amy observes all of this.

Hannah heads to HR to sign some more paperwork, and the lady realizes that shes’ Ryan Clark’s daughter. She casually mentions that he’s getting a raw deal, and Hannah threatens the woman, saying she’ll tell Michael if she doesn’t reveal what happened and what she means.

Amy returns home to see the snowglobe on the counter and a note from Katie. She has a brief flash and remembers Ryan at the same place she got the snowglobe. She looks at the address at the bottom.
