Apple Martin is making moves to follow in her dad’s footsteps and join the family business.
The 21-year-old daughter of Coldplay’s Chris Martin and actress Gwyneth Paltrow surprised a crowd at Nashville’s Cannery Hall on October 17th when she joined the band Jade Street to perform a new song called “Satellite.” According to the Vanderbilt Hustler, Jade Street was on a bill opening for The Bends when Martin joined them onstage. The student newspaper also noted that Chris Martin was in attendance to show his support.
Jade Street later shared photos from the show on Instagram, tagging Apple Martin, who commented on the post with three otter emojis. The band also posted a video from the concert, featuring the studio version of “Satellite,” which is set for release on October 28th. See the posts below.
From the song preview, “Satellites” sounds inspired by classic Coldplay, with the minor-key ballad showcasing the young Martin’s emotive vocals. A fan-captured TikTok post features the actual live performance, where Apple’s voice starts a little shaky but grows more confident as the song progresses. Watch the clip below.

This isn’t Apple’s first foray into music. She appeared on Coldplay’s “Let Somebody Go,” featuring Selena Gomez, from their 2021 album, Music of the Spheres.
Currently a law, history, and society major at Vanderbilt, she’s also a member of the Vanderbilt Original Cast, the university’s cabaret theater group. “This semester’s show is a musical parody of Love Island called Love on an Island. It’s so fun. The songs are phenomenal,” she shared in an article in Interview magazine earlier this year.
“I have a very low voice so whenever we’re doing harmonies, it’ll be like, ‘Alright, it’s the boys and Apple,’” she added. “I’m singing my absolute favorite song this semester, which I’m so excited about. I’m definitely not the best in the org, but I love it.”
Meanwhile, Apple’s father recently teased a massive 2027 leg of Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres Tour” during the band’s latest run at London’s Wembley Stadium.
