Ever since The Boys premiered back in 2019, we have all been wondering if there is anyone really powerful enough to go toe-to-toe with Antony Starr’s Homelander.
We’ve had several contenders, including Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy and a V’ed up Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), but they needed a lot of help to make Homelander sweat.
However, it seems like Gen V‘s protagonist, Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair), might hold the key to his death.

Marie has been the central focus of the spinoff show since the beginning.
On a surface level, she might not seem that powerful. However, if there’s one rule The Boys franchise never breaks, it’s this: always expect the unexpected.
The Blood Bender has yet to access her full potential, but Gen V featured several glimpses showing how terrifying her power can be.
It’s also shown why every supe should be afraid of her.
Marie Can Beat Homelander (In Theory)
Homelander vs Marie might seem pretty one-sided at first glance.

One has super strength, super speed, flight, invulnerability, and heat vision, while the other can just squirt some blood. Homelander has more ways than one to finish off Marie if he really wants to.
What can Marie really do in a fight against The World’s Greatest Superhero ever?
God U’s new Dean, Dr. Gold, aka Cipher, might’ve deciphered this lingering mystery. Having kept a close eye on Marie since her birth, he knows a lot more than he’s letting on.
If there’s one thing he has repeatedly emphasized, albeit in a creepy way, is that he wants to help Marie unlock her true potential. At one point, he appears to suggest that Marie could become more powerful than Homelander.
The question is, how?
Marie might not be physically as strong as some of the other supes, but her ability, hemokinesis, has wide-ranging and useful applications.

Gen V Season 2 explored some of them, like healing someone on the verge of death back to life, and bursting anyone unfortunate enough to cross her into smithereens.
Now, going back to The Boys Season 1, remember how Translucent was killed?
Despite his near-invulnerability, Frenchie found an opening (quite literally) and stuck a bomb inside him. And Hughie blows him to pieces after letting his emotions get the better of him.
Marie, in theory, could do the same thing, considering she can make anyone explode from the inside. So, maybe Cipher is onto something?
Will The Boys Ever Crossover With Gen V?
It’s not as though both storylines function completely independently of each other; they are set in the same universe. The cast of The Boys already makes fleeting appearances in the spinoff, wherever possible.

Moreover, if Marie actually achieves the level of power Cipher is hoping for from her, it won’t stay a secret for long. And The Boys will definitely catch wind of it.
Now, considering the upcoming season of The Boys is also going to be its last, there’s a good chance Butcher and Co. will be going all out.
Starlight has already approached Marie. What’s stopping them from teaming up in the final season?
We’ve also seen Sister Sage in Gen V. She might’ve inside info on Marie’s development as well, given the relationship she shares with Cipher.

The worst-case scenario?
If Homelander comes to know of a supe with the potential to kill him, he’s not going to sit still. He’s going to hunt down Marie, forcing her to join the rest of The Boys.
There’s also a possibility that The Boys Season 5 will move separately from Gen V.
For now, we can only guess and wait for it to release in 2026.
