The collaboration between Big L and Joey Bada$$ brings golden era royalty together with a modern-day heavyweight on their latest track, “Grants Tomb ’97”.
Big L marked his place as one of the most decorated rappers within the 90s, and it’s beautiful to see that he still widely celebrated to this day for the release of his posthumous album Harlem’s Finest: The Return of the King. “Grants Tomb ’97” from the LP really grabbed my attention, especially his passionate first verse as he showcases his intricate rhyme schemes and impressive range of flows. Joey Bada$$ offers a more laid-back yet confident verse which slightly contrasts L’s, however, together their combination and synergy screams East Coast debonair.
