Ben Folds has introduced his resignation as artist advisor to the Kennedy Middle’s Nationwide Symphony Orchestra following Donald Trump’s determination to put in himself as chairman and the purging of a number of members of the board of trustees.
“Given developments on the Kennedy Middle, efficient at this time I’m resigning as inventive advisor to the NSO,” Folds wrote in a press release shared to social media. “Not for me.”
As chairman of Kennedy Middle, Trump has promised a brand new “Imaginative and prescient for a Golden Age in Arts and Tradition,” including that, “We don’t want woke on the Kennedy Middle, and we don’t want — among the exhibits had been horrible. They had been a shame that they had been even placed on.”
The Kennedy Middle has historically been an apolitical establishment, internet hosting greater than 2,000 performances yearly, that are funded by a mixture of authorities grants, non-public donations, and ticket gross sales.
