THIS IS SO COOL! orbit has reimagined Ben Böhmer’s hit “Breathing” into something that sounds like something we would hear during the peak Soundcloud era.
Last month, Ben Böhmer released a remix EP that features the likes of Boris Brejcha, Dominik Eulberg, and of course orbit, which breathes new life into the track “Breathing”. What I loved about this rendition is that it borrows from hip-hop drums instead of the rhythm section typically associated with electronic music, placing the track in a whole new dimension. His vocals harmonize ever so beautifully with Malou’s, especially when the drums fall silent, and the track’s dreamy haze is accentuated. Towards the middle section, the experience begins to feel quite cinematic as the tension builds, and the synths swell, leading to a soft anti-drop that puts us at ease.
