This is one of the most beautiful tunes I’ve heard lately. It’s not a very usual thing to fuse vocal samples with jazz (more often they’re found in jazz beats) but Matt Wilde is always here to surprise us. The Manchester keyboardist shares the wonderful trumpet & key-driven “Get Along” – a genre-defying jazz piece you’ll likely be playing on repeat. It is part of his sophomore album Find a Way, out today – the debut release of his own imprint Hello World Records. The 9-track record started as “a series of journal entries, reflecting on life, creativity, and resilience…

The young (I believe early 20s) Virginia Beach-based artist lives at the cross-section of alt r&b and hip hop music and is equally skilled at dropping razor blade sharp bars and soulful lullabies. Her desire to make music sparked from childhood, first ignited by a game inspired many, Rock Band, and further enhanced by the thrill of imagining herself onstage. After years of channeling her creativity through poetry, she found her voice again in high school, turning her words into songs…

A federal judge has thrown out Drake’s defamation lawsuit against Universal Music Group over Kendrick Lamar’s diss track “Not Like Us.” Drake sued his own label UMG earlier this year, accusing the label of having “approved, published, and launched a campaign to create a viral hit out of a rap track” that was “intended to convey the specific, unmistakable, and false factual allegation that Drake is a criminal pedophile, and to suggest that the public should resort to vigilante justice in response.” However, in her opinion issued Thursday, Judge Jeannette Vargas ruled that a “war of words” during a “heated…
