An America’s Subsequent Prime Mannequin alum is spilling behind-the-scenes secrets and techniques in a brand new e book.
Cycle 9 contestant Sarah Hartshorne opened up about her expertise filming the fact competitors sequence in You Wanna Be on Prime?: A Memoir of Makeovers, Manipulation, and Not Turning into America’s Subsequent Prime Mannequin, which hit bookshelves on Tuesday, July 8.
Within the e book, Hartshorne recalled her fellow competitor, Mila Bouzinova, hugging host Tyra Banks after making it to the season’s last 13 fashions. “Mila Bouzinova strode ahead confidently, flipped her hair over her shoulder, and hugged Tyra. Tyra checked out somebody off digital camera and shook her head,” Hartshorne wrote, per Leisure Weekly.
Banks, nevertheless, was not a fan of the bodily interplay, as Hartshorne claimed an off-screen crew member yelled to the forged, “No extra hugs.”
“She saved studying names. Some women had been already crying when she began, and with every title, they wept tougher,” Hartshorne added, joking that she yelled “like a horse” when her personal title was referred to as. “I regarded in her eyes and thought, God, I can’t wait to fall asleep.”

In accordance with EW, the alleged hug between Bouzinova and Banks didn’t make the ultimate reduce of the September 2007 episode. Bouzinova, who now goes by the title Lyuda, was finally eradicated throughout Cycle 9’s second episode, whereas Hartshorne got here in eighth place general.
Neither Bouzinova nor Banks have publicly addressed Hartshorne’s e book claims.
ANTM ran for twenty-four seasons from 2003 to 2018 and adopted supermodel hopefuls as they competed in a sequence of challenges to be topped, because the present’s title suggests, America’s Subsequent Prime Mannequin. Banks served because the present’s host for 23 out of its 24 seasons, with singer Rita Ora briefly getting into her sneakers for Cycle 23.
Over time, the sequence has confronted backlash for its variety efforts, lack of physique inclusivity, and controversial challenges. Banks addressed the ANTM criticism throughout her speech on the 2025 Essence Black Girls in Hollywood ceremony in February.

She continued, “All of us evolve. All of us get higher collectively. And I’m so excited that I and so many people [have] opened that door for others to comply with. And now, my 51-year-old, dimple, cellulite, larger tummy, 10 million instances larger [breasts] is strolling via that door that I opened with all of us behind us on that runway saying, ‘Child, it’s simply starting.’”
