Pre-orders are ongoing.
American Psycho, an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 novel, arrived in theaters nationwide on April 14th, 2000. Christian Bale starred as Patrick Bateman, a young investment banker who embarks on a gruesome serial killing spree in New York while attempting to maintain his polished facade of wealth and social status among Manhattan’s elite. The film became a box office success and a beloved entry in the horror canon, inspiring a direct-to-video sequel, a Broadway musical, and a sizable cult following.
Meanwhile, Luca Guadagnino is at work helming a remake of American Psycho starring Austin Butler as Patrick Bateman; the film will reportedly take more from Ellis’ original novel than Harron’s 2000 film.
