American Psycho will commemorate its 25th anniversary with a special re-release in 4K UHD and VHS formats.

Both releases will serve as special “uncut” versions of the film and arrive on December 9th, with the 4K UHD edition priced at $39.99 and the VHS edition at $29.99. The 4K UHD release will feature Dolby Vision HDR, with an outer box cover depicting a maniacal Christian Bale splattered with blood and a CD case with artwork modeled after Huey Lewis and the News’ Sports.

The 25th anniversary editions will also contain five replica business cards for the film’s various Wall Street bankers: Patrick Bateman, Paul Allen, Timothy Bryce, David Van Patten, Luis Carruthers. Plus, the set will include a fake credit card registered to Bateman as well as a fake video store membership card.

Lastly, the new set will boast a variety of special bonus features, including a 25th anniversary Q& with writer-director Mary Harron, audio commentary from Harron and co-writer Guinevere Turner, various archival features from American Psycho‘s original release and promotion in 2000, and much more. Pre-orders are ongoing.

American Psycho, an adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 1991 novel, arrived in theaters nationwide on April 14th, 2000. Christian Bale starred as Patrick Bateman, a young investment banker who embarks on a gruesome serial killing spree in New York while attempting to maintain his polished facade of wealth and social status among Manhattan’s elite. The film became a box office success and a beloved entry in the horror canon, inspiring a direct-to-video sequel, a Broadway musical, and a sizable cult following.

Meanwhile, Luca Guadagnino is at work helming a remake of American Psycho starring Austin Butler as Patrick Bateman; the film will reportedly take more from Ellis’ original novel than Harron’s 2000 film.
